Car Ride Antics

Whenever we go for a ride in the car, whether it be for only a few minutes or for several hours, Katelyn always seems to provide some sort of entertainment. I thought I would capture some of her silliness on camera.

Playground Fun

20 1/2 months old

Katelyn loves to play on the playground. We took her today to a new playground and she of course LOVED it. She still refuses to go on any swings but she loves to climb, run around and go down the slides.

Dress Up

Katelyn likes to dress up in her own clothes. She will go in her room, grap some random outfit (Curious George tank, Elmo P.J.'s, bathing suit, any of her favorite articles of clothing....) and want to put them on. She can get certain things on but most of the time she needs help getting an arm or leg through the hole.

Here she is wearing her Curious George tank top over another shirt...she is quite the fashion diva. She insisted she wanted her "Monkey" shirt as she calls it. Usually she asks to wear her Elmo P.J.'s

Katelyn decided one day she wanted to wear her bathing suit inside, we were not going swimming that day but she brought me her suit and kept asking to put it on....how could I refuse that face ;)

Katelyn has a cell phone in the picture below and she looks as if she is in a deep conversation (while wearing her bathing suit) too funny.

Katie and Cassie

Almost 20 months old

Katelyn is absolutely in love with Cassie, actually she loves all "doggies". She helps me feed Cassie her dog food by putting it in Cassie's bowl and will then immediately tell me "Water, Water, Water!!! As if she thinks I would forget to give Cassie her water. So she is looking out for Cassie and making sure her "doggy" is taken care of. It is very sweet and kind.

Katelyn not only reminds me of the water but while Cassie is eating her food Katelyn tells Cassie to drink her water. Just in case Cassie wasn't sure of what she was supposed to do after all these years :) It is very funny!

When we leave the house to go anywhere Katelyn always says "bye bye" to Cassie Doggy and will sometimes go back to her several times to say bye before we actually can leave the house.

Katelyn gives Cassie kisses on the nose which is completely adorable and Cassie puts up with all of this which is quite surprising.

Katelyn has developed this high pitched squeal that she loves to do when she gets super excited or when she wants to get our attention and she thinks it is hilarious that she can make this obnoxious loud sound. Cassie is not a fan of the loud shrieks and squeals (I can't blame her, Katelyn can be LOUD)

Fun on the Farm

Almost 20 months old
Katelyn went to a birthday party on a farm and had a bunch of fun playing...

At one point during the party they did an Arts and Crafts activity, where they decorated horseshoes with glitter and sparkles.
All the kids seemed to love it and have lots of fun ....

Except for Katelyn, (as seen in the picture below) apparently she is not quite into "Art Projects" yet...she would rather play on the slide and run around the farm.

Katie was much happier after the "artistic stuff" was done and she got to play with the other girls on a play boat

She also enjoyed being able to feed the chickens corn. She thought this was very cool and was quite amused by them.

Katelyn was saying "hi " to the horse but was a little nervous around him.

Here is a little video clip of Katelyn feeding some ducks and chickens ....

Playing in the Park

19 months old

We take Katelyn for a walk through our neighborhood every evening. There is a nice little park which is about halfway through our walk which we stop at almost everytime. Actually, we don't really have a choice. If we try to walk by the park and not stop, Katelyn will start to point and yell "PARK" followed by whinning, crying, and trying to get out of the stroller. Needless to say we pretty much always stop to play at the park.

All grown up and "reading" books!

June 30, 2009

18.5 months old

One of Katelyn's favorite things to do is to climb into a chair and read herself some books (Elmo's ABC book is her favorite of course, along with any of her "lift the flap" books).

She looks so grown up when she sits in the chair and flips through the pages. She babbles continuously through the book as if she is really reading the story, it is very cute.

In the next video clip Katelyn repeates some of the words she knows....these are some other words she can also say: apple, up, down, open, bubbles, baby, oatmeal, all done, keys, water, milk, the end, knock knock, rock baby, run, no (she likes that word alot)....

Legos

Pony Tail

June 26, 2009
18.5 months old

Katelyn's hair is just about long enough to get into a small pony tail, so here are some pictures of her with her hair up. She didn't mind her hair up, but she didn't like having to sit still for me to get her hair in the pony tail. So I basically had to put it up as she was moving around the room.

Boating Baby

June 13, 2009
18 months old

To celebrate Katie's 18 month birthday we all went out on the boat today. We weren't sure if she would like it at first ...but to our surprise she LOVED it. She wasn't scared at all and loved when Todd would go fast and hit small wakes.

Here is Katelyn walking to the dock with her Daddy

She kept watching Todd to see how he was steering and driving the boat

Katelyn and Mommy

Halfway through our trip we stopped the boat to have a snack

Having so much fun...Katie loves how fast the wind blows on the boat

Posing for the camera

Katelyn's favorite spot on the boat....was right up front

"I've been watching you drive daddy, and I think I am ready to try it myself"

Walking hand in hand with daddy after a fun day on the boat

After a great day of boating katelyn was all tired out and she slept the whole way home
